Tour 3- The Burren & Connemara

Day 1 |
Galway |
|
The City
of the Tribes, as Galway City is
known, is a wonderful place to start your tour. You
get to sample the history of this city that was
founded by 14 families whose legacy still lives on
up to the present day. The city lies at the mouth of
the River Corrib as it enters the
Galway Bay and is discreetly divided by narrow
canals that are frequented mainly by ducks and swans
and the odd kayaking group. |

Day 2 |
Galway - Oughterard -
Cong |
|
Cycling
from Galway, you have the option of cycling
to the coastal village of Spiddal via the
coast road and then through to the picturesque
village of Oughterard via Moycullen
or cycle directly to Outherard from galway.
You will then sail with Corrib Cruises from
Oughterard to Inchagoill Island
where you will have a guided tour of 5th and 12th
century ruins of Saint Patrick's Church and
The Church of the Saint, respectively. You
will then continue with Corrib Cruises to
one of the finest Castles in Ireland, Ashford
Castle, with it's many fine gardens. |

Day 3 |
Cong - Lough Mask -
Finny - Clonbur - Cong |
|
You will
conquer Lough Mask by taking a cycle around
its borders, through the town of Ballinrobe,
Northwards to Partry, then Southwards
adjacent to the Party Mountains through
Tourmakeady on to Maumtrasna, back
through picturesque Finny, into the village
of Clonbur before returning to Cong. |

Day 4 |
Cong - Cornamona -
Maam - Leenane |
|
Hopping on
your bicycle, you will head Westwards to Cornamona,
along the banks of Lough Corrib through Maam
and down into the wonderfully scenic village of
Leenane which sits at the head of Ireland's most
spectacular fjord, Killary. |

Day 5 |
Leenane -
Gowlawn Bay - Renvyle
- Clifden |
|
Cycling
Westwards, you will journey towards Tully Cross
via the scenic Gowlawn Bay. From Tully
Cross, you will cycle further West to
Renyvle Peninsula, a relaxing and refreshing
place far from the pressures of city life that has
been shaped by nature, time and the people who call
it home. Returning via Letterfrack village
which lies just outside the Connemara National
Park, you will get to visit Kylemore Abbey
abbey, and then into Connemara's capital, Clifden.. |

Day 6 |
Clifden Sky Road -
Ballyconneely- Roundstone - Clifden |
|
In the
morning, you have the opportunity to explore the
beautiful vistas that the Sky Road has to
offer as you first take the High Road and
return by the Low Road. Next, you'll be
breathing in the cool, refreshing air coiming in off
the Atlantic Ocean as you cycle along the
skirts of Coral Strand on your way to
Ballyconneely with it's many beautiful beaches.
You'll have the opportunity to enjoy Gorteen
Beach, and soak up the scenery in the
beautifully picturesque fishing village of
Roundstone before passing by many little lakes
that dot the Connemara landscape on your
return to Clifden via Recess. |

Day 7 |
Clifden - Rosaveal -
The Aran Islands - Kilfenora |
|
In the
morning, you'll be shuttled by Bus to Rosaveal
where you will board a boat for the Aran
Islands. Inishmore is the largest of
the three islands and the best mode of transport is
by bicycle and you will find that you will not be
alone as you explore it's many ruins nad high stone
walls including the famous stone age fort, Dun
Aengus whose stronghold looms high above the
crashing waves of the Atlantic ocean. You
will then take another boat across to the Burren,
where you will get off at the very lively village of
Doolin where traditional music is played in many of
its pubs. You will end your trip for the day at
Kilfenora located on the south-west border of the
Burren. |

Day 8 |
Kilfenora - Lahinch -
Cliffs of Moher - Lisdoonvarna |
|
Cycling
through Ennistimon, you will visit the
surfing town of Lahinch and relax on it's beautiful
beaches. Moving from there, via the coast, through
Liscannor, you will cycle to the majestic Cliffs
of Moher and can take a walk out to Hag's
Head and breathe in the warm, refreshing air
coming in from the Atlantic Ocean. You will
then cycle on to the Spa town of Lisdoonvarna,
famous, not only for its Spa but also for it's
yearly matchmaking festival. |

Day 9 |
Lisdoonvarna -
Corkscrew Hill - Ballyvaughan - Fanore |

Cycling
Northwards, you will pass by many Stone Forts,
including Cahermacnaghten before reaching
Corkscrew Hill, so-called due to the roads
unusually sharp bends, that starts with a
breathtaking view that stretches out for miles
towards Galway Bay. Your descent down this
hill will bring you into the colourfully coastal
village of Ballyvaughan. Then taking the
Coastal Road you will cycle to the
beautiful beaches of Fanore but first
stopping off at Black Head to take in the views
across Galway Bay of the Connemara
Mountains and the Aran Islands.

Day 10 |
Fanore - Corrofin -
Fountain Cross - Ennis |
The final
part of your tour takes you Southwards, firstly to
corrofin, down into Fountain Cross and finish in
Ennis, the Capital of County Clare.
Here your journey ends and may you have a very safe
trip home. If you availed of our offer of airport
transportation, we can collect you at a time and
place convenient for you. |

The price of €359 is the full tour price per person based on
groups of 10 persons or more. We will do our best to keep
the price at €359 per person but we may be forced to charge
a small additional fee if there is less than 10 persons on
the tour.
A €100 booking fee is required to reserve your place on the
tour. This fee is fully refundable if you cancel your
reservation at least 30 days prior to the tour start date.
50% of the booking fee is refundable if you cancel your tour
at least 7 days prior to the tour start date. €379 is the full tour price plus €20 to cover administration
costs if you are booking your Tour less than 30 days from
the start date.
