Many airlines fly into Ireland but in some cases you may
need to fly to a UK or mainland European airport first.
Here we are only covering airlines from Australia/New
Zealand, Europe and the USA/Canada but as most countries in
the world will have routes to the UK it is easy to get to
Ireland from there.
Flying is one of the quickest ways of getting around
this wonderful island and it’s blissfully hassle-free.
There is now a selection of operators offering flights
from regional airports, including Dublin, Shannon, Cork
and Belfast as well as the Aran Islands, Donegal, Kerry,
Knock and Sligo.
In the 1970's Aer Arann began flying from Galway to the Aran
Islands, providing an island-hopping air service from the
mainland to each of the three Islands.
In
1994 Padraig O'Ceidigh purchased Aer Arann and set about
laying the groundwork for a feeder air service for Ireland
and the UK.
Today, Aer Arann is one of the world's fastest growing
regional airlines, with a turnover in excess of EUR94
million per annum and passenger numbers of just under 1
million for 2004 representing an increase of 62% on the
previous year.
The airline currently operates over 500 flights per week
across 13 UK, 5 domestic and 3 French routes. The company
employs 350 staff and has experienced substantial growth
over the past year with the launch of 9 new routes as well as increases
in flight frequency and the addition of two ATR72 aircraft,
bringing its fleet total to ten.

Aer Arann is committed to developing a reliable and

environment to that of large jet airliners, combining wide
