Another place of great interest is Glengowla Mines, the only Show Mine in Ireland.

 

Glengowla Silver and Lead Mine is a remarkable and impressive example of how part of our valuable industrial heritage has been reclaimed, restored and transformed into an outstanding visitor attraction.

The tour explores large marble chambers and caverns studded with lead & silver pyrite and veins of calcite & quartz in addition to other precious materials.
