The middle of the three Aran Islands, Inis Meáin captured  the heart of Irish writer John Millington Synge, who spent summer after summer on the island from the late 1800's.

Today Inis Meáin attract like-minded visitors who relish tranquillity, nature at its most spellbinding and a warm welcome from the islanders.   To learn and experience the most of what the island has to offer, it is recommended that the visitor stays at least a couple of days.  This allows time to talk to, and meet with the residents of the island, to explore the island and learn about the unique culture and history.

Ostán Inis Meáin is the island's only hotel. It has 10 en-suite bedrooms, a bar and a dining room.  Bar Food is served daily at very reasonable prices, 5 - 9 euro and a la carte menus from 13 - 32 euro give you an appetizing selection from the local cuisine.

 

The hotel is open from March to the end of October and is five minutes walk from the Island airport.  There are flights by small aircraft at 9.15am, 10.30am and 5.30pm each day to the island from Inverin near Galway.

Ten minutes walk away is the pier - An Cora Pint.   Ferries sail to the island from Rossaveal at 10.30am and 6.30pm each day, year round, returning at 8.30am and 4pm.
