Our Heritage Centre
It took a few years to prepare the grounds around
the chapel and to find an artist who was willing and able to do special
work on the outside wall of the chapel itself.
John Herrick, a brave Corkman and a special artist
accepted the challenge and succeeded in bringing to life, with his brush,
stories from Connemara folklore that were lying dormant for many a year.
This is a unique Heritage centre depicting the
various cultures and religions of our ancestors over the last ten thousand
years.
It is just a taste from the great store of folklore
yet to be recorded in the West Connemara Gaeltacht. It is just a
foundation that can be built upon as it suits. |
